📜The Charter

Framework for Governance, Membership, and Community Collaboration

Vision Statement

SagaDAO aims to be the decentralized hub for the Solana Mobile community and its supporters, connecting owners of Solana Mobile devices, creators, and developers to build a thriving ecosystem.

Mission Statement

SagaDAO supports initiatives, develops tools and community spaces that leverage mobile. Web3, and blockchain technology. Guided by our core values, we encourage open participation, collaborate to drive meaningful change, and share knowledge to evaluate and improve projects within the Solana ecosystem.

Core Values

  1. Transparency: We uphold openness in our processes and decision-making to build trust and promote accountability.

  2. Community: We are committed to building a strong, welcoming environment where every active contributor is valued, heard, and encouraged to participate.

  3. Collaboration: We harness the power of teamwork and open communication to drive collective success.

  4. Innovation: We strive to push the boundaries of mobile and Web3 technology through continuous research and development.

Membership and Participation

To become a new member of SagaDAO, you must own an approved device and to mint the associated NFT. Only these NFTs, obtained through device ownership, grant basic membership and allow you to participate in the community and governance. Active contributors may earn higher membership status with additional privileges or governance rights.

Approved Devices and Required NFTs:

  • Saga - Saga Genesis NFT

  • Seeker - Seeker Genesis NFT

Minting is done through the Solana Mobile dApp Store using your crypto wallet on the device. SagaDAO does not control this process. Please report any issues directly to Solana Mobile.

Code of Conduct

All members of SagaDAO are expected to adhere to the following code of conduct:

  1. Respect & Integrity – No harassment, discrimination, or personal attacks.

  2. No Self-Dealing – Do not exploit the SagaDAO for personal gain at the expense of the community.

  3. Accountability – Own your actions and uphold transparency and trust.

  4. Privacy & Data Ethics – Do not share or misuse private or sensitive information of others, including data distributed through DAO-run tools or platforms.

  5. Honest Communication – Engage in good-faith discussions and avoid misinformation.

  6. Constructive Participation – Contribute meaningfully to the DAO.

Governance Structure

SagaDAO follows a hybrid governance model, balancing core team leadership and community decision-making:

  • The core team consists of four members, each responsible for a specific area of work.

  • The community elects the core team each year to oversee strategy and daily responsibilities.

  • Each core team member holds one vote on governance decisions.

  • Ties are resolved through a community vote.

  • Community members can suggest charter changes, but only the core team can formally propose them for community approval.

  • Project teams operate within core team focus areas, reporting to a core team lead; they can include members from both inside and outside the DAO.

The following sections expand on the charter:

  1. Treasury Management – How funds are allocated and managed.

  2. Proposal Submissions – The process for submitting and approving changes and projects.

  3. Annual Election Process – How leadership is chosen.

  4. Team Focus Areas – Roles and duties within the DAO.

  5. DOIT Evaluation – A required strategic assessment by the core team, conducted yearly or as needed.
